Cage-Free & Home-Raised

Every kitten here is raised underfoot in our Damansara Perdana home — in the rooms we actually live in, rather than in a facility. A Maine Coon’s temperament settles early, and being handled daily through ordinary household life is what produces a cat that stays steady around noise, visitors and being picked up.

Cage-free is how our cats live day to day, and we would rather be precise about that than absolute. There are two deliberate exceptions. A mother is penned with her litter for the first weeks after birth: a new mother with the run of a room will carry her babies off to wherever she has decided is safer, and newborns need her staying put, staying warm and feeding them. She is let out every day, and the pen goes away for good once the kittens are steady on their feet. And a cat new to the house, or just home from the vet, spends time in the quarantine room before rejoining everyone. Neither exception is about convenience. Everything else is open house.

The difference shows on collection day. Our cats do not hide under the furniture when guests arrive, and a kitten going to a home in KL, Petaling Jaya or the wider Klang Valley walks out of the carrier and starts investigating, rather than spending a fortnight under the bed.
